LEAK DETECTION

Has a nasty leak sprung a surprise on you? Plumvac Projects has leak detection equipment imported from Europe to quickly and non-invasively pinpoint the location and cause of the leak. Our team of leak detection specialists will conduct a thorough leak detection assessment and advise on the best possible method for the leak repair

WHY CHOOSE PLUMVAC PROJECTS TO DETECT A LEAK?

• Our leak detection equipment is imported from Europe, Plumvac uses only the best!
• We have many years of experience in leak detection
• We have a thorough knowledge of leaks and how water behaves
• We have the best team and leak repair equipment
• We use modern leak repair methods like pipe relining, which is a trenchless ‘no dig’ solution to repairing leaks and burst pipes

OUR LEAK DETECTION OFFERINGS

While untrained and unqualified plumbers may unnecessarily tear down structures and cause damage to your property to identify a leak, Plumvac Projects prefers a more sophisticated approach to leak detection.

POOL LEAK DETECTION

If you have to top your pool water more frequently or you notice cracks in your pool fibre lining, then you may want to consider a pool leak detection service. Plumvac Projects uses LeakTrac2400 pool body and fitting scanning to accurately detect a leak in your swimming pool or hot tub. Suspect a leak in your pool? Click Below

ACOUSTIC LEAK DETECTION

To repair the leak, first we need to locate it. Leaks produce wavelengths of sounds, and acoustic sound leak detection is simply a method used to listening for leaks using the acoustic sound leak detector. You have to be experienced in hearing leaks because not all leaks sound the same. Different leaks produce different sounds and every pipe creates a different noise, and only Plumvac's experienced leak detection specialists will know and understand the difference.

TRACER DYE LEAK DETECTION

Tracer dye leak detection allows us to visualise the path of the leak by adding luminous dye to the suspected leak area. It is a reliable and swift method to pinpoint leaks and assessing waterproofing. We use proper luminous dye, not food colouring. It can be carried out on balconies, showers, window sills, pools, tanks, sewer and storm water pipes, and more.

TRACER GAS LEAK DETECTION

Tracer gas leak detection is a specialised leak detection method used to locate hidden leaks in large areas. Tracer gas leak detection uses a gas mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen which is used in a gas sniffer or snooper. When there’s a leak, the tracer gas will exit at the leak point and make its way to the surface where it’s easily detected by the gas detector.

THERMAL IMAGING

Thermal imaging leak detection uses a thermal imaging camera to guide acoustic sound leak detection. The thermal camera detects moisture due to temperature differences, which then guides the leak detection specialist to the areas to which the acoustic sound leak detection device should be pointed at. Thermal imaging uses infrared imaging and measurement to see and measure thermal energy to identify water leaks that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

DIGITAL DAMP METERING

Digital damp metering or moisture metering is used for damp diagnosis and quality control in walls, ceilings and floors. Digital damp metering can be carried out on wood, drywall, plaster and concrete. The digital damp meter that Plumvac uses is a dual mode moisture meter which allows us to distinguish between sub-surface and surface moisture. This is important when trying to establish the cause of damp during a leak detection assessment.

Thermal imaging is most recommended way to determine where your hot and cold water pipes run.
