PIPE RELINING
Pipe Relining can transform old, broken and defective pipes without the costly expense of digging them up!
How is it possible to repair broken pipes without actually digging them up?
The answer is in trenchless technology called pipe relining, where absolutely no digging is involved!
Plumvac are forerunners in pipe relining, being one of the first ever plumbing companies to offer pipe relining services in Cape Town and surrounds. Plumvac is also the only pipe relining company in Cape Town to officially be trained by Picote as an approved installer of Picote epoxy brush coating.
The process of pipe relining can take up to four hours, while the epoxy curing process can take up to 24 hours. It is during these crucial 24 hours that it is absolutely vital that no water is to be used, no taps opened, or toilets flushed.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CONSIDER PIPE RELINING?
The main reason to choose pipe relining is to avoid replacing the broken pipe, or pipe system. However, before pipe relining can be performed, Plumvac will first need to conduct a CCTV pipe inspection using a CCTV pipe inspection camera. This allows our pipe relining specialist to determine whether pipe relining will be a good option, or whether other options will need to be considered.
HOW DOES PIPE RELINING WORK?
The existing broken pipe remains in place, hence the name cured-in-place pipe. The process of pipe renewal begins when epoxy or polymer resin is pulled or sprayed into the broken pipe where it cures to create a brand-new working pipe. Pipe relining can be used to repair entire sewer lines or treat smaller areas using fiberglass patches like Pipe Doctor.
